Sunfish Swimwear is a small family-owned business that is devoted to providing the best children’s swimwear for boys and girls of all ages. We founded Sunfish Swimwear because we are teachers from New England, and we love to travel to sunny places with beautiful beaches during the summers. But we found it too difficult to buy appropriate, child-friendly UV swimwear for our two boys. We knew that we were not alone in our desire to protect our children from sun related illnesses with quality kids swimsuits and swim shirts.

Like other small, new companies, we do not yet have a print catalog; instead we use the flexibility and cost savings of the web to improve our customer service and provide you access to all of our children’s swimwear. We design and approve all of the UV swimwear on the Sunfish Swimwear site, and we work with small manufacturers so we can have a personal relationship to guarantee the high quality of our products. The majority of our kids swimsuits and swim shirts use darker colors, especially around the shoulders and arms, because darker colors have been shown to protect better against the dangers of UVB radiation damage.

The materials we use in our UV swimwear have been inspected and rated 50+ UPF by the Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) of Australia, the first country to make a concerted effort to educate its public of the dangers of excessive childhood sun exposure. This rating for our children’s swimwear is extremely important to us, because we realize how much time your children spend in the summer time sun. That’s another reason we make sure our swim shirts are comfortable enough to be worn wet or dry. Kids swimsuits are often worn all day at the beach and the pool, and unlike regular t-shirts, our UV swimwear provide the maximum sun protection for your kids.
